In 2021 Transship Group began to actively develop transportations of grain cargo along the Danube and Dnipro. This was reported by the company’s Press Office.
“As of the first days of September, we have already shipped more than 400,000 t of grain, of which more than 150,000 t were delivered along the rivers of Ukraine. We plan to triple these volumes by the end of the year”, said Ievgen Mashtakov, director of the group’s trading house.
As it was noted by the company, river cargo transportation is profitable, environmentally friendly and unloads highways. During the above period alone, the group relieved Ukrainian highways of 6,000 grain carrier trucks. The development of river cargo traffic makes it possible to preserve state roads, for which tens of billions UAH are now allocated annually.
Besides, water traffic allows new infrastructure projects implementation and shipbuilding development which creates additional jobs in related industries, the company added.
Transship company is the leader in offshore cargo transhipment in the Azov-Black Sea basin. In recent years, the group has begun to develop its own grain business. The elevator Strumok (Odesa region) is one of the group’s key logistics links in Bessarabia. Since the beginning of the 2021-2022 marketing year up to mid-September, the elevator has processed more than 40,000 t of grain, exceeding the last year results.
Cranship company, a division of the Transship group, plans to start transporting grain cargo along the Dnipro from its own elevator in Poltava region. The company carries out transhipment of grain cargo in Izmail Port and Kiliya – a subdivision of Ust-Dunaisk Port.
